Back from ISBER 2018 Annual Meeting & Exhibits

CloudLIMS is back from ISBER 2018 Annual Meeting & Exhibits, held in Hyatt Regency Dallas Hotel, Texas, United States. This year, we were a bronze sponsor of the annual meeting where more than 700 delegates participated to discuss and advance biobanking and biospecimen research, in addition to global research. There were a number of exhibitors at the annual meeting. We showcased our cloud-based SaaS LIMS, CloudLIMS, to automate operations of repositories, diagnostic and research labs. We also participated in the “Pathway to Discovery”, an interactive sequence of displays (steps) that enabled attendees to visualize the biospecimen lifecycle from collection to utilization, and brought vendors, academic experts, and meeting participants under a single biobanking niche. For the first time, ISBER hosted pre-conference workshops for repository technicians with the objective of apprising them about specific types of repository activities and providing opportunities for learning and knowledge exchange. There were seven Symposia sessions, four oral Contributed Paper sessions, a number of poster presentations, talks by eminent speakers, roundtable discussions, an Innovative Technologies session, ISBER Working Group meetings and Special Interest Groups (SIG) discussions, besides additional Corporate Partner symposia. Our COO, Shonali Paul, attended the conference and was pleased to meet repository professionals from across the world and discuss how a cloud-based LIMS can help in managing repository data, improve client services, and follow regulatory compliance such as HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, audit trail, and ISBER Best Practices.

We also presented a poster titled “The Role of Cloud Technology in Supporting Biobank Sustainability” in collaboration with Dr. Jim Vaught, Editor-in-Chief, Biopreservation & Biobanking. The poster illustrates the role of a cloud-based LIMS in addressing the risks associated with different aspects of biobank sustainability, social, operational, and financial, thus playing a critical role in overall biobank sustainability. You can download a copy of the poster from the Posters section.

If you missed the chance to meet us in-person at the ISBER 2018 Annual Meeting, you can schedule a meeting with us at the 2018 ASCO annual meeting, where we are exhibiting at booth 19123. If you are not attending the 2018 ASCO annual meeting, you can sign up for an online product demo. We are happy to discuss data management and regulatory compliance requirements of your repository. We look forward to meeting you at ISBER 2019 Annual Meeting & Exhibits to be held in Shanghai from May 7-10, 2019.
