CloudLIMS Releases v 3.88 of its Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)

CloudLIMS, an advanced SaaS, in-the-cloud Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software with zero upfront cost, accelerates biobanking, clinical research and diagnostics, cannabis, environmental, and water testing laboratory operations by efficiently managing laboratory data, automating workflows, and following regulatory compliance, such as CLIA, ISO 15189:2022, CAP, ISO 20387:2018, EU GDPR, HIPAA, GLP, ISO/IEC 17025:2017, 21 CFR part 11, among others. 1. Simplified Task Management

You no longer have to rely on email notifications for updates on tasks such as “Transfer Test,” “Send for Review,” and “Send for Approval,” with important messages easily getting lost in the email avalanche. Now, the “My Tasks” tab on your home module is your one-stop hub for tracking assignments. Under the “My Task” tab, you’ll find a clear overview of every task assigned to you, no matter who assigned it. This means no more searching through endless emails; it’s all right there at your fingertips. 

2. Manage Test Runs & Results Seamlessly

This feature makes keeping track of multiple test runs and their results a breeze. If you conduct the same test on the same sample more than once, this functionality makes it easier to track which results belong to which test run. Now, you can seamlessly add test run numbers to the Result Entries dialog when you configure dependencies on the analytes being tested. You also have the flexibility to input results for multiple test runs with ease. What’s more, you don’t need to enter results manually. The application allows you to effortlessly import the results of multiple test runs, saving you valuable time and effort. CloudLIMS maps the Sample ID, Analyte Name & Test Run in the import file with the corresponding attributes in the application, and uploads the test results for the respective test records in a few clicks, eliminating possible transcription errors.

3. Transparent Service Options

Make the costing of test orders transparent with “Service Options.” No more confusion, no more hidden fees. Now, with our user-friendly application, laboratories can effortlessly configure “Service Options” to include charges such as sample preparation, shipping and handling fees, expedited processing/rush charges, specialized testing equipment, consultation, and regulatory compliance fees, giving your customers clear bifurcation of the total cost associated with each test order request. For laboratories, “Service Options” isn’t just about helping customers; it’s also a powerful tool for managing expenses and fostering financial transparency. The functionality helps laboratories efficiently track and manage the associated charges for their services.

4. Activity Color Coding

With this latest enhancement, you can effortlessly discern the status of each activity when integrating CloudLIMS with your lab instruments. This is made possible by the use of distinct and eye-catching colors in the activity log. No more sifting through lines of text to figure out the status, whether it’s data uploading success, file uploading activation, and more. By default, each activity is color-coded in the activity log of CloudLIMS for every instrument. This functionality empowers lab managers to take prompt action in the event of any issues encountered during the integration of CloudLIMS with instruments. 

5. Effortless Sample Tests Association

Associating the same sample with multiple tests of a catalog just got easy! You no longer have to repeatedly go through the tedious and time-consuming process of associating samples one by one from a long list. Now, after associating the required samples with one of the tests in the catalog, a click of the “Associate” button effortlessly extends this association to all remaining tests contained within the same catalog. This advancement empowers you with a seamless and time-saving approach to managing sample associations while placing service requests on behalf of your clients. Furthermore, this functionality is available in CloudLIMS’ Client Portal, enabling your clients to perform the sample association with multiple tests when placing a service request from the portal.

6. Streamline Storage Management

You can now access all configured storage containers in just a few clicks. In addition to “Tree View” and “Tabular View,” you now have a nifty “Quick View” tab that allows you to view which samples are stored in each container at a glance. The “Select Storage” dropdown in this view conveniently displays all your configured storage containers, ready for you to choose. Edit and copy containers, or edit your samples with ease – it’s all just a click away. This functionality enhances your storage management experience, eliminates manual searching, and empowers you with intuitive, one-click access to your containers and samples.

7. Automate Calculation of Final Test Results by Comparing Attributes

This functionality empowers you to auto-calculate final test results by comparing two analyte attributes. The two analyte attributes can be system-defined or user-defined. You need to define the required comparison logic for a test group and test code. Once the logic is configured, you can input the test results for comparing attributes in the Result Entries dialog box. You can do so through manual input, by importing results from a file, or by integrating CloudLIMS with your instruments. Once you input the values in the comparison attributes, based on the defined comparison logic, the application displays the results in the Result attributes. This functionality automates the calculation of final test results based on the comparison of values of non-numeric analyte attributes, saving time and eliminating any chances of manual errors.

8. Include Unique IDs in Reports

With our latest version, you have the power to display a unique report ID on every single page of your inbuilt test reports. We’ve added a nifty option called “Include Report ID in Header.” When you select this option, your report ID appears in the Header section of every page in your generated reports. No more flipping back to the first page. This functionality enables you to discern test reports based on the unique IDs assigned to each of them, eliminating any chances of confusion and strengthening their traceability. 

9. Re-organize Analyte Attributes

This functionality gives you the power to organize your analyte attributes’ categories per your preference. You can sort them in ascending or descending alphabetical order or manually arrange them in any order you prefer, giving you more flexibility to position the categories of analyte attributes per your requirements.

10. Effortless Barcode Configuration

Your lab technicians can now associate different types of barcodes (1D or 2D) with different sample records belonging to the same sample type. They can simply select a barcode template from the array of template options configured in the application while updating the barcode for a single sample or all records of a single sample type. This feature not only saves time but also boosts efficiency. Your lab team can swiftly adapt to evolving needs and keep operations running smoothly.

11. Expanded Barcode Flexibility

You can now generate one-dimensional barcodes using any of the system-defined or user-defined attributes you’ve configured in the Barcode Label Configuration. No more being restricted to just a few predefined attributes such as sample IDs or sample ID [External]. This functionality provides you the flexibility to generate 1-dimensional barcodes using the attributes of your choice.
