CloudLIMS Releases v 3.93 of its Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)

CloudLIMS Version 3.93 Released - Laboratory Information Management System

CloudLIMS, an advanced SaaS, in-the-cloud Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) with zero upfront cost, accelerates biobanking, clinical research and diagnostics, cannabis, environmental, and water testing laboratory operations by efficiently managing laboratory data, automating workflows, and following regulatory compliance, such as CLIA, ISO 15189:2022, CAP, ISO 20387:2018, EU GDPR, HIPAA, GLP, ISO/IEC 17025:2017, 21 CFR part 11, among others. The latest version of CloudLIMS, version 3.93, is equipped with new features and enhancements to enable laboratories to better meet their data management, automation, and regulatory requirements. The highlights of this version include the ability to configure flags for each test analyte, automated result tagging, extension of barcode-based sample search and editing, and more.

  1. Configure Flags for Each Test Analyte: With this latest update, you can configure flags for each analyte instead of the entire set of analytes of a test type, allowing for more flexibility and precision. So, you can now configure flag names and colors based on specific detection and reporting limits for each analyte. For instance, let’s consider Analyte 1. If its ‘Flag Calculation’ field value falls below the detection limit, you can set the flag to “low” with a vibrant cyan color. For Analyte 2 of the same test type, if the value lies within the detection and reporting limits, the flag name can be set as “optimal” with a different color. Each analyte might have its own unique thresholds, thus CloudLIMS allows you to configure flags based on the minimum, maximum, critical low, and critical high values of an analyte, ensuring an accurate representation of each analyte in a test. This means analyte results are appropriately flagged in your Result Entry window and correspondingly translated onto the test reports or Certificates of Analysis (CoAs).
  2. Automated Result Tagging: CloudLIMS now automatically tags sample test results using configurable tags such as ‘Pass’, ‘Fail’, ‘Invalid results’, or ‘Error’, as well as ‘Negative’ and ‘Positive’, based on the results. This functionality enhances CloudLIMS’ ability to display the test result status of a sample. CloudLIMS now displays the value of the “Sample Testing Results” attribute for a test using predefined rules intelligently derived by taking into account all the analyte flag values of that test. Experience the efficiency and accuracy of automated tagging with reports that are more visual than data-oriented, making them easy to read.
  3. Barcode-based Sample Search and Editing Extended: With this latest feature, searching for samples using a barcode ID or scanning a barcode has never been easier or more efficient. You can simply input the barcode ID or scan a barcode and instantly retrieve the sample record you need, without having to select the sample type. Whether it’s tissue, urine, or any other sample type, the system seamlessly fetches the relevant record for you. And that’s not all! The feature enables you to pull out multiple sample records in a single window. The newest record retrieved gets appended to the previous ones seamlessly, all conveniently accessible in one place. Moreover, you can batch edit/update any attributes across the multiple records retrieved.
  4. Notify Clients Upon Sample Receipt: Now, your clients need not be in the dark after sending samples to you. Once your laboratory receives one or more samples shipped by your client, and the master administrator or a registered user marks the sample as received in CloudLIMS, CloudLIMS sends an email notification to inform your client about the receipt of the samples. This functionality enables you to keep your clients posted, right from the time of sample accessioning, thereby enhancing customer experience.
  5. Effortlessly Add or Edit Analytes for Tests: Experience the ease of managing the analytes for which you want to test your samples. With our latest update, analysts can seamlessly select analytes while creating a test. What’s more? Even after a test is created, CloudLIMS allows analysts to adjust or modify associated analytes as needed. This functionality offers you an alternative to conveniently select or deselect analytes as per the evolving needs of your customers.
  6. Generate Consolidated Test Reports: No more hassle of managing multiple separate reports for each test. Now, you can effortlessly consolidate all your data into one comprehensive report! With just a few clicks, you can merge individual reports into one cohesive, easy-to-read report. Whether you need to refer to observed values, review methods used, or assess detection and reporting limits, the consolidated report has got you covered. The data is conveniently organized into different sheets within a single report in MS Excel file format, enabling you to review results without having to go through reports in silos.
  7. Enhanced Reporting Flexibility: When you have a multitude of analytes to navigate through, the last thing you need is a cumbersome vertical layout causing unnecessary scrolling. Now, in addition to the vertical arrangement of analytes in test reports, CloudLIMS also offers a horizontal view that organizes analytes neatly into columns, eliminating the need for endless downward scrolling. So, now you can generate and export test reports that are not only comprehensive but also user-friendly.
