CloudLIMS Delivered Talks @2020 Food Labs/Cannabis Labs Conference

+

CloudLIMS participated in the Food Labs/Cannabis Labs virtual conference held from June 2 – 5, 2020. Our CEO, Mr. Arun Apte, delivered a talk titled “Preparing for an ISO 17025 Audit: What to Expect from a LIMS?” at the event. ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is an international accreditation used to standardize the practices of testing laboratories, such as cannabis, food and beverage. ISO/IEC 17025:2017 compliance includes structural, resource, process, and management system requirements that testing laboratories need to meet in order to receive the accreditation. ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation ensures that the laboratories are technically competent to generate accurate, valid, and reproducible test results. Furthermore, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation enhances laboratory credibility, minimizes risks and liabilities, and reduces operational expenses. The talk illustrated the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 compliance and how a Cannabis LIMS and a Food and Beverage LIMS can seamlessly automate manual laboratory processes to meet the stringent requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 compliance, enabling laboratories to prepare for third-party audits. If you missed the chance to hear him speak live, you can download the presentation from our website.

One of our product experts, Ankita Acharya, also delivered a tech talk titled “Get your Lab in the Fast Lane, Powered with a LIMS Engine!”. The talk emphasized the significance of a LIMS for food, beverages and cannabis testing laboratories. The laboratory operations that need support include managing samples, tests, and test results, automating data transfer through instrument integration, generating custom Certificates of Analysis (CoA) as per regulatory and customer requirements, sharing CoAs and invoices over a self-serve client portal to minimize turnaround time. Furthermore, a Food and Beverage LIMS enables food testing laboratories to track samples from farm to fork, enabling them to meet the requirements of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). You can download the presentation from our resources section.

Both the events, Food Labs Conference and Cannabis Labs Conference, brought together experts from the food and cannabis industries on a virtual platform. The event received over 1000 registrations and several attendees interacted with the speakers online. The 4-day event included talks by eminent experts, including professionals from cannabis and food testing laboratories, accreditation bodies, such as ANAB, research laboratories, regulatory bodies, such as FDA, and Medical Cannabis Control Commission. The objective of the event was to address regulatory, compliance, and risk management issues in cannabis testing and food laboratory management. The attendees got the opportunity to learn about new technologies, best practices, and regulatory guidelines, for both cannabis and food industries.

You can schedule a call with our experts to discuss the challenges of your testing facility and how a LIMS can help overcome the challenges.

Also, watch a two-minute video to learn how a LIMS can help your cannabis testing facility to manage data, automate workflows, manage QA/QC processes, and follow regulatory guidelines.
