Abstract: ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation is becoming increasingly significant for cannabis testing laboratories, with many states making it mandatory. ISO/IEC 17025:2017 compliance helps in governing the operations and procedures of cannabis testing laboratories, assuring the quality of the test data generated by the laboratories. Cannabis testing laboratories perform a myriad of analytical tests to ensure that cannabis-based products are free from pathogens, pesticides, and other contaminants, and are not detrimental to human health. Cannabis testing laboratories need ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation to prove their competency. Testing by an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory is critical to demonstrate reliability and accuracy of test results. This, in turn, increases the trust of consumers in the test results and most importantly, assures that consumers are purchasing high-quality, safe products.
