Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly emerging as a transformative technology in data-driven fields such as biobanking and biomedical research. While AI holds immense potential to accelerate discoveries and optimize processes, it also introduces complex ethical and legal challenges. AI-driven biobanks enhance precision medicine, improve diagnostics, and facilitate the development of targeted therapies. However, these modern biobanks, which house vast collections of biospecimens and associated health data, face increasing scrutiny over ethical concerns, including data privacy, informed consent, transparency, equitable access, and responsible AI deployment. Integrating AI into biobanking requires a careful balance between technology and the protection of individual rights and societal interests.
