At CloudLIMS, we always believe that team bonding does not always need to happen over strategy meetings or deadline sprints. Sometimes the strongest connections are forged over flavors, laughter, and a sprinkle of friendly competition. One such event that brought these values to life in the most flavorful way was our recently concluded CLan Culinary Day 2025 – Battle of the Flavor, a one-of-a-kind no-flame cooking competition held on Friday, June 6.
The rules were simple but spicy: no gas, no fire, no induction cooktops. Just 30 minutes, a tight budget, and a pantry of creativity at its best.
The idea of CLan Culinary Day was born from a simple yet powerful thought—how can we bring teams together in a refreshing, engaging, and non-work setting? Food, being a universal connector, served as a perfect theme. But we wanted a twist, something that would challenge everyone’s creativity. The concept of a no-flame cook off was thus born.
This meant no use of gas, open fire, or induction cooktops. Only basic ready-to-use ingredients, mixers, grinders, or grillers were allowed. Every team had a limited budget and just 30 minutes to put their culinary imagination into fruition.

Team Lineup and Dish Reveal
The participants were split into three energetic teams, each bringing its own unique flair to the competition. Team A represented the Engineering Team, showcasing their creativity beyond code and development. Team B came from the Product Team, bringing their precision and attention to detail into the culinary arena. Team C was a collaborative force made up of the Marketing Team, Account Management Team, Human Resources, and Admin Teams, blending diverse skills and perspectives to cook up something special together.
Teams were required to preregister their dishes to avoid duplication and ensure diversity in the offerings. Team A prepared Cucumber Chaat and Saucy Gardenwich, Team B went with Pinwheel Sandwich and Chocolate Roll, while Team C served a classic combination of Pani Puri and Coconut Laddoo.
We were excited not only to participate but also to witness the team members step into an entirely different kind of collaboration. It was wonderful to see teammates engaged in planning, shopping for ingredients, tasting combinations, and preparing to serve delectable delights.
The Big Day: Laughter, Chopping, and Creativity
As the clock ticked 5:30 PM, the Lunch Hall transformed into a vibrant space filled with aroma, laughter, and a healthy dose of competition. Each team had set up its counter with the support of limited but carefully arranged utensils and disposables provided.
Within minutes, the space was buzzing with activity. Peals of laughter echoed as ingredients were passed around and unexpected garnishing ideas were discussed. It was rewarding to see the entire floor come alive with energy, cooperation, and shared joy. It was also a great reminder that CLites are at their best when they feel engaged, appreciated, and encouraged to express themselves beyond their job roles.

Presentation and Tasting: Where Stories Were Served
At 6:00 PM, the cooking phase ended and it was time to plate up. Each team selected their representatives to present their dishes to the judges and fellow CLites. This segment was about more than food & plating. It was about storytelling, confidence, and the spirit behind every creation.
Team A impressed everyone with a train-themed setup. The creative layout, combined with their tasty chaat and sandwiches, had both visual appeal and flavor.
Team B delighted the judges with their neatly arranged pinwheel sandwiches and sweet chocolate rolls. Their elegant presentation reflected attention to detail and thoughtful planning.
Team C stole hearts with their pani puri station. With each puri made to order, the live counter invited interaction and engagement. The coconut laddoos, made with love and simplicity, were the perfect sweet ending.
The judging panel, consisting of our COO, Shonali Paul, and our Project Manager, Anurag Mittal, evaluated the dishes across four key areas: taste, presentation, creativity, and teamwork. Their engagement went beyond tasting, as they asked questions about the dish concepts, budget usage, and preparation process, making the experience both educational and fair for all.

And the Culinary Crown Goes To…
After careful deliberation, Team A (Engineering Team) was declared the winner of CLan Culinary Day 2025. Their blend of creativity, taste, teamwork, and presentation gave them the winning edge.
However, every team walked away with recognition and applause. Whether it was Team B’s delicious sandwiches or Team C’s crowd-pulling pani puri, each group showcased immense talent and effort.
Behind the Scenes: A Toast to Teamwork
Organizing this event required meticulous planning, coordination, and teamwork. From creating registration sheets and managing budgets to sourcing utensils and ensuring a clean, food-safe environment, our HR, CLan, and Admin teams worked tirelessly behind the scenes.
We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the support staff who helped set up and clean the space, the judges for their thoughtful evaluations, and every CLite who participated, encouraged, and enjoyed the day in an enthusiastic fervor. It was a true team effort.
More Than Just Food
For all CLites, this event served as a powerful reminder of what makes CloudLIMS special. It is not just the software we build or the milestones we reach; it is the people, the culture, and the shared memories we create along the way.
CLan Culinary Day was not merely a cooking competition. It was a celebration of togetherness—a chance to step away from our screens and rediscover the joy of working and laughing side-by-side.
We look forward to many more such experiences that nourish not just our appetite but also our spirit as a team.
