CloudLIMS is excited to exhibit at the Europe Biobank Week 2019 or EBW, to be held at the Music and Congress Center of Lübeck (MuK), Germany, from October 8-11, 2019. We are delighted to showcase our purpose-built, in the cloud SaaS LIMS, CloudLIMS, at booth 39, from October 9-11, 2019. We are also presenting a poster titled “Empowering Biobanks to Comply with the EU GDPR for Personal Data Protection using a Cloud-based LIMS” at the event. The poster, ID P5A_8, is scheduled to be presented by our COO, Shonali Paul, on October 9, 2019, from 4 PM - 5 PM at the poster session “5A: 500 Days into the GDPR”. Biobanks collect, process, store, and provide high-quality annotated biospecimens for research. For sharing high-quality biospecimens and associated metadata obtained from the European Union (EU) citizens, biobanks need to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). EU GDPR helps in safeguarding personal data obtained from EU citizens. The poster illustrates the role of a Biorepository LIMS in enabling biobanks to comply with the EU GDPR guidelines for personal data protection. The poster also emphasizes the importance of a LIMS in pseudonymization of sensitive data and in helping data processors to maintain automated records of all processing activities such as data collection, organization, storage, alteration or retrieval. Furthermore, the poster delineates the significance of an in the cloud LIMS in transnational data transfer without compromising data integrity.
