If we’re being honest, the CloudLIMS team wasn’t quite sure what awaited us as we planned our CSR visit to the National Association for the Blind. We’d done CSR initiatives before—plenty of them—but this was different. This was our first time collectively stepping into a space where everyone we’d meet was visually impaired. We didn’t assume we’d walk into a room filled with despair, but there was an unspoken question hanging in the air: would our presence, our efforts, our intentions be enough to create something meaningful? Would we know how to connect in the right way?
What we found when we arrived completely upended every hesitation we’d carried with us.
The institute is home to students pursuing higher education across various fields—commerce, the sciences, the arts—each one building toward a future they’ve mapped out with remarkable clarity. But it wasn’t their academic pursuits that struck us first. It was the energy. The laughter. The confidence radiating from every corner of the room. These students greeted us with a warmth and optimism that we, frankly, hadn’t anticipated. They weren’t waiting to be inspired—they were already living inspired lives, and somehow, in the span of a few moments, they’d managed to flip the script entirely.
Who They Saw When Shonali Spoke
Soon enough, our COO Shonali Paul took the stage and addressed the students while extending her New Year wishes to them. At this juncture, it was important to acknowledge how the entire CloudLIMS team felt privileged to be there, spending time with them and beginning the year in such a meaningful way. With years of professional experience as a female leader and having navigated her own share of setbacks, Shonali’s words carried weight—and the students resonated. They listened with rapt attention, clearly inspired to push past their setbacks and reach out for excellence in their own academic and professional journeys.

Ambitions Unbound by Darkness
After Shonali’s address, the students introduced themselves and shared details about their academic journeys, areas of study, and future aspirations. Listening to their introductions gave us a deeper understanding of their dedication toward higher studies and the clarity with which they are working toward their goals.
One of the most touching moments of the visit was when the students sang songs for us. Each performance reflected their talent, confidence, and love for music. Every melody they sang was beautiful and left a lasting impression on everyone present. The joy and passion with which they performed filled the room with warmth and admiration. It was a reminder that talent and creativity shine through determination and dedication.

After the performances, we spent time interacting with the students over refreshments. We spoke with them about their studies, hobbies, interests, and daily routines. These conversations were simple yet meaningful, and they allowed us to connect with the students on a personal level. As part of our CSR effort, CloudLIMS made a small contribution toward the institute’s plan for the construction of new toilets for the students. We understand the importance of basic facilities in supporting a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment, and we are glad to support the institute in this initiative.
In addition to this, CloudLIMS also sponsored the transportation for the students’ New Year trip. Supporting this outing allowed the students to celebrate the New Year together and enjoy a change from their daily routine, creating moments of joy and togetherness.
At CloudLIMS, we remain committed to giving back to the community and creating opportunities to connect with purpose and compassion. This visit was a reminder of why such initiatives matter and how they bring people together beyond the workplace.
We look forward to continuing our CSR journey and creating more moments that are rooted in kindness, understanding, and shared humanity.
